Hey there!

Hi, I’m Chez (they/them), a Black, queer, and colorful individual with a deep passion for animals, nature, crafts, horror movies, sustainability, and the lifelong journey of learning and growth.

Throughout my life, I’ve witnessed how BIPOC and Queer communities often face barriers to exploring the outdoors and prioritizing wellness. Mainstream narratives, dominated by cookie-cutter influencers, too often exclude our voices and experiences. Having lived across the U.S., I’ve personally felt the impact of these limitations—trauma, abuse, racism, and rejection—and I’ve made it my mission to not only survive but thrive beyond them. This resilience and determination fuel my work with Courageous Strides.

Courageous Strides is a movement to break down barriers and increase access to nature-based wellness for those often overlooked—people with disabilities, individuals of all fitness levels, those in urban areas, and those with low incomes. My vision is to make the outdoors more inclusive and representative of BIPOC and Queer communities, empowering us to prioritize our wellness, our identities, and our goals. By doing so, we can challenge societal expectations and create a more inclusive space for everyone to benefit from the healing power of nature.

Courageous Strides is for all: BIPOC, Queer, allies, fat, fit, disabled, and abled bodies.

All are welcome here.
